Union Township Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault After Student Accusations

UNION TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS New York) -- Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow announced the arrest Tuesday morning of a Union Township computer science teacher.

David Eidel, 38, of Toms River, N.J. was arrested without incident at his home by members of the Union County Prosecutor's Office. Eidel was charged with one count of 2nd-degree endangering the welfare of a child and one count of 2nd-degree sexual assault.

Two separate students, a boy and a girl, have made allegations that Eidel touched them inappropriately. The incidents allegedly took place earlier this month at Connecticut Farms Elementary School. Eidel's bail was set at $150,000.
