'Park Here' NYC Pop-Up Offers Cold Weather Relief, Foodie Delights At Indoor Picnic

By Siobhan Wallace

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Last year, downtown pop-up space Openhouse Gallery temporarily transformed an empty event space into an indoor park during the brutal winter.

The event was a hit, so this year Park Here is back, bringing faux spring sunshine to Nolita and providing the perfect goodies for an indoor picnic.

Throughout the month, Park Here will have a rotation of vendors set up in the "park" selling their wares and delicious nibbles. On the savory side, Hong Kong Street Cart will be there, hopefully with their ginger dumpling soup, spicy edamame, and hot ginger and honey juice.

If you're looking for something more along the lines of a salty snack, Nolita Mart & Espresso Bar is selling McClure's Potato Chips among other things. These are no ordinary potato chips--last year, Brooklyn's McClure's Pickles teamed up with Detroit's Better Made snack food and the result is quality crinkle-cut chips with zesty spices usually found with pickles.

On the sweeter side, you have Stuffed Artisan Cannolis selling their miniature cannolis in a variety of flavors including their Lavazza-infused coffee treat.

If something more Asian is your style, Filled with Sweets has you covered. They have black sesame, and matcha cupcakes alongside a maple black sugar cookie.

Intoxicating Confections will also be stopping by the space a few days. They specialize in boozy cupcakes inspired by popular cocktails!

"Park Here" is located in the Openhouse Gallery at 201 Mulberry St, and runs through February 15.
