DANBURY, Conn. (CBSNewYork) — Police are asking for the public’s help in finding two suspects accused of stealing a 72-year-old Connecticut woman’s credit cards last Friday.

While having dinner with her husband at the Danbury Fair Mall, police said a man and woman kept bumping into the victim’s purse.

The victim’s husband moved the purse to a safer location and then noticed the duo quickly leave the restaurant.

Police said later that night, the victim received several calls from her credit card companies about suspicious transactions.

After checking her purse, the victim noticed four of her credit cards had been stolen.

Police said the suspects bought over $2,000 worth of goods at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Danbury before going to The Westchester Mall in White Plains to continue their shopping spree.

The duo apparently tried to make over $6,000 worth of purchases with the stolen credit cards in Danbury, Conn., White Plains, N.Y. and Paramus, N.J.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Matthew Casazza of the Danbury Police Department at 203-797-4611 Ext. 604.
