Giants' Amukamara Undergoes Procedure For Foot, Wears Protective Boot

NEW YORK (WFAN) - Prince Amukamara is putting last season behind him, instead focusing on 2012.

The cornerback, who was taken by the Giants in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2011, broke his left foot in August, during the second week of training camp. And now the Nebraska alum is working towards a starting role for next season.

On Saturday, Amukamara was seen wearing a protective boot on his left foot and walking with crutches while signing autographs, says the New York Daily News.

Not to worry, Big Blue faithful. The G-Men have an explanation for your concern.

According to the Giants, Amukamara recently underwent an injection procedure in order to help the recovery process of his foot. It just so happens to be the same procedure that running back Ahmad Bradshaw had for his fractured foot.

The 22-year-old Amukamara recorded 14 tackles and an interception in seven games in 2011.

Will Amukamara live up to expectations next season? Let us know in the comments section below...
