"He lived his life to the fullest, and I think he is continuing up there," Firefighter Byron Gray said. "It's been tough on the younger guys on the job, those who came on with him."

Hundreds dressed in black said goodbye at Holy Name Church in New Rochelle.

Morris' first cousin, Tim Idoni, said that Morris did a lot for local charities, including selling a firefighters calendar.

"Oh my gosh, he lit up a room!" Idoni said of his cousin. "When he walked in you could see that he was a guy who just loved life so, so much. And people just adored him."

"Keith lived life to the fullest," Steve Lewis, Morris' friend of 20 years, said. "He was the kind of kid that when you looked him in the eyes, you knew right away that you were friends."

The 30-year-old died when the boat he was on capsized. He is survived by his siblings and parents.
