Police: Body Found On Gilgo Beach Is Missing Queens Woman

BABYLON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The body of a woman that washed ashore at Gilgo Beach is that of a missing Queens woman, authorities said.

Suffolk County police identified the victim as 31-year-old Natasha Jugo of Queens Village.

Her body washed ashore Monday night about a mile from where her abandoned blue Toyota Prius and some of her personal items were found on the south side of Ocean Parkway in Nassau County in March.

Investigators didn't say if there were signs of trauma.

The location is close to where 10 bodies have been found in recent years, but police don't believe Jugo's case is related to that investigation, according to Newsday.

Authorities won't comment on the ongoing investigation into the discovery of the 10 bodies along a seven mile stretch of Ocean Parkway between December 2010 and April 2011. Last year, investigators said it appeared that more than one killer was responsible.
