Suspect Charged With Murder After Man Dies At LIRR Station

BELLMORE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A man has been arrested and charged with murder for his role in the death of a man at a Long Island Rail Road station, police announced.

Following a joint investigation between the MTA Police and the Nassau County Police Department, Niheim Levy, 34, of Roosevelt was arrested.

According to police, Levy got into an argument with a 49-year-old Freeport man around 4:50 a.m. on Saturday at the Bellmore station. The victim wound up on the tracks and came in contact with the third rail.

It was initially believed that the man suffered a seizure, but police later determined the altercation led to the man winding up on the tracks.

Levy has also been charged with robbery in connection with the incident.

The identity of the victim was being withheld pending family notification.
