NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Actor Alec Baldwin got testy with photographers after delivering emotional testimony Tuesday in the trial of his alleged stalker.
The former “30 Rock” star appeared at the Manhattan trial of 41-year-old Genevieve Sabourin. As he was leaving court, Baldwin was surrounded by photographers before getting into a waiting car.
“What job did you want to do that you failed at, that you’re doing this job?” Baldwin snapped at a CBS 2 photographer as he drove away.

Baldwin’s wife Hilaria left court Tuesday through the crush of media with no comment, CBS 2’s Tony Aiello reported.

Baldwin testified Tuesday that he never had a sexual or romantic relationship with the Canadian actress accused of stalking him, saying that after they met, she began leaving dozens of voicemails for him a night and eventually started threatening to show up at his homes.
Baldwin said that he had a meal with Sabourin at a friend’s request, gave her an email address and phone number and later communicated with her about acting classes.
She began to barrage him with as many as 30 voicemails per night and hundreds of emails that started out as lovelorn and pleading, Baldwin said. They escalated into ominous threats to insinuate herself into his now-wife’s yoga class and to come to his homes, even as he implored her to stop and threatened to call authorities, according to Baldwin, who cried at times during his testimony.
“It was nightmarish,” he said. “No matter what was said to her, she kept coming. More emails, More phone calls. She was desperate.”
Sabourin interrupted his testimony at every chance she got, calling him a liar and at one point saying, “You delete women after you have sex with them,” CBS 2’s Weijia Jiang reported.
Judge Robert Mandelbaum told Sabourin to calm down or he’d find her in contempt of court, 1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa reported.
Under cross-examination, Sabourin’s attorney tried to show Baldwin as an angry and disturbed individual, asking if he remembered a magazine interview in which he said he wanted to kill his ex-wife’s divorce lawyer, Papa reported.
“I don’t recall saying that, but I wouldn’t rule it out,” Baldwin replied.
Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Zachary Stendig told a judge last week that Sabourin relentlessly stalked Baldwin to the point that he acquired a court order against her. Sabourin also sent Baldwin emails, asking him to marry her and offering to conceive a “mini-Baldwin,” prosecutors said. She also allegedly showed up at the actor’s home in the Hamptons on the day he became engaged to marry his now-wife, Hilaria, and called Baldwin so often that he had to change his phone number.
Shortly after Baldwin and Thomas got engaged in March 2012, they were sitting in their living room in Amagansett, N.Y., when he heard gravel crunch in the driveway. He looked out to see Sabourin getting out of a car, Baldwin testified, his eyes reddening as he recalled the episode. He called police; Sabourin left before they arrived, he said.
The couple felt “extremely, extremely, extremely threatened,” he said.
Sabourin was arrested in April 2012 outside Baldwin’s Manhattan apartment building, shortly after the engagement.
Baldwin and Sabourin, who has appeared in Canadian movies and TV shows, met when he had a cameo and she was a publicist in the 2002 sci-fi comedy “The Adventures of Pluto Nash.”
Baldwin told investigators the two had dinner, but it was strictly professional.
But defense lawyer Todd Spodek has said Sabourin and Baldwin exchanged emails about matters as personal as her father’s death, and in 2010 he took her for a romantic dinner and accompanied her to a hotel for a sexual tryst.
Spodek has said Sabourin wasn’t stalking the actor, just “looking for closure” after Baldwin suddenly gave her “the cold shoulder.”
“I’m not a stalker,” Sabourin told reporters as she arrived in court Tuesday. “They dragged me in this war of attrition for nearly two years. Why? I haven’t done anything wrong.”
Sabourin is charged with nearly two dozen counts of stalking and harassing the actor and his wife. She faces up to 90 days in jail if convicted.
Hilaria Baldwin also took the stand, testifying she was “terrified” and called police when Sabourin showed up at their building in the Village on Easter Sunday 2012.
“She’s a woman I’ve never met, never spoke to. She called 911 on me because probably she knew I was Alec Baldwin’s ex-romance,” Sabourin said outside court.
Sabourin denied sending nasty tweets to Hilaria Baldwin, including one that wished that Baldwin’s recent pregnancy would end in a miscarriage, Aiello reported.
Sabourin said she’d like to take the stand in her own defense. The trial resumes on Wednesday.
