A no-brainer. "The Say Hey Kid" played a role in both eras of NL baseball in New York by becoming a Met in 1972. He's currently fourth on MLB's all-time home-run list and won 12 Gold Gloves during his career. Mays is one of the greatest -- if not the greatest -- baseball players of all time.

Mattingly was a six-time All-Star and his No. 23 was retired by the Yankees after his playing career ended in 1995.

The Giants' all-time leading rusher, he played nine seasons in New York and was a three-time Pro Bowler.
