Report: '50-50' Chance That Giants Bring Back Tom Coughlin

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Will Tom Coughlin be fired after the season?

As the losses continue to pile up -- New York lost its fifth straight game this past Sunday -- the speculation continues to build.

A source has told the New York Post that there is a "50-50" chance that the Giants' head coach will be back next season.

Thoughts On Tom Coughlin

The newspaper reports that the decision to retain Coughlin is painfully difficult for management, and a decision is unlikely to be made until the season concludes.

Co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch and general manager Jerry Reese have not given any indication about Coughlin's future with the organization.

The Giants (3-7) are tied for last place in the NFC East. They will almost certainly miss the playoffs for the third consecutive time and the fifth time in six seasons.
