Newark Latest City To Deny 'Jersey Shore' Spin-Off Filming Permit

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- It's another "no vacancy" sign for Snooki and JWoww. Newark has barred MTV from shooting scenes of their "Jersey Shore" spin-off.

In a letter to show's production company, Mayor Cory Booker said because Newark's emergency personnel would likely be called to mitigate any incidents involving Snooki and JWoww, the risk to Newark residents would be too great, according to a report by the Star-Ledger.

The girls from"Jersey Shore" haven't exactly been welcomed with open arms since heading up from Seaside Heights. Hoboken rejected a request to film there before the two were finally given permission to film in nearby Jersey City.

While they shack up for six weeks in a two-story home in Jersey City, some bars and nightclubs have said they don't want to see the "Jersey Shore" gals in their establishments.

Three business owners turned down contracts to let MTV film the show inside their bars and there are reports of other downtown shops with "No Snooki" signs in the windows.

The "Jersey Shore" is now in its fifth season.
