Brooklyn Woman Shot When Bullet Comes Through Ceiling

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police say a Brooklyn woman was shot by a bullet that came through her apartment ceiling.

It happened around 1 a.m. Monday on Underhill Avenue in Prospect Heights.

Police said the 30-year-old victim was in her first floor apartment when she was struck in the leg.

The bullet appears to have come from a second floor apartment.

The woman was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
